Robert Schoenert
I have loved turning ever since I purchased my first lathe almost 40 years ago. It was a Craftsman lathe that worked very well but I replaced it with a Delta variable speed. I quickly out grew the Delta and purchased a Powermatic 3520B about 15 years ago.
I served as President of the Alamo Woodturners for 5 years and I am a charter member of the Alamo Penturners. I served as Secretary of SWAT for one year.
The creative aspect of wood turning is what I love especially when a piece of firewood turns in to a nice bowl or vase. Sometimes you don't know what the final shape will be because of the irregularity of the wood.
