Chris Buckingham
I started working with wood in my father's small shop when I was young. For many years I enjoyed doing woodwork (making toys and furniture, building decks, etc.) as a hobby and doing home repair/building as service work (for example, Habitat For Humanity). I still build furniture and work with a group that builds wheelchair ramps and renovates homes for underprivileged people in the Boerne area. In early December 2016, I took a bowl turning class and bought my lathe soon after that. I enjoy turning bowls and pens, but my favorite projects are segmented bowls. I still have a lot to learn and I find the woodturning community to be very helpful, and the nicest people I've ever been around.
